Robotic Systems Technician I

Location: Dodge City, KS  |  Reports To: VP of Operations

Pay: $70,000–$90,000 on-target earnings  |  Type: Full-time  |  Shift: Morning shift, evenings as needed

Position Summary
The Robotic Systems Technician installs, troubleshoots, maintains, and improves the automated and robotic equipment that keeps production running. This is a dual role where 50% of the time is spent onsite in Dodge City, KS to ensure smooth operations and the other 50% is taking the knowledge acquired at our Dodge City location and applying it to new Block One customer warehouses throughout the United States.

This role is home-based at our Dodge City, KS beer distribution warehouse, where you'll own the day-to-day health of our automation system, and travel regularly to support customers across the U.S., commissioning new equipment, resolving breakdowns, and sharing best practices. You'll be working with the local ONeil Distributing teams when in Dodge City and with the international Block One team while onsite at customer locations.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable with, or excited to learn about modern robotics and their related systems. A flexible schedule will be required to occasionally support evening or early morning pick shifts. You'll be one of the most technically capable people on the floor, and other sites will call you when something has them stumped.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day to day running of the automation system at the home location in Dodge City, KS
  • Assist with various warehouse activities such as inventory counts and product put away when at home location in Dodge City, KS
  • Support installation, startup, commissioning and stabilization of new robotic and automated systems at other U.S. sites
  • Use an array of hand, power, and software tools to support onsite installation and startup of robotic modules
  • Troubleshoot robotic, electrical, and software issues
  • Work directly with co-workers and customers to stabilize and troubleshoot projects
  • Support continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and reliability initiatives via our internal task tracking system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Certificate, Associate's degree, or Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software, or related field
  • 0–3 years experience in either a technical or warehouse operations role
  • Willingness to travel 35%–50%

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual base salary: $60,000–$70,000
  • Expected annual travel bonus: $10,000–$20,000
  • Expected on-target earnings after travel bonus: $70,000–$90,000

Work Environment: This position requires the ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work at heights or in confined spaces for extended periods. Work is performed primarily in warehouse environments where employees may be exposed to elevated noise levels, moving machinery, and varying temperatures. Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn in accordance with company and customer safety requirements. The position also requires approximately 35%–50% travel by air and ground to customer facilities throughout the United States, with individual trips typically lasting 5–12 days.
